July 14th-24th 6:30pm to 9:00pm Set in the backdrop of NYC, the step siblings Sebastian Valmont and Kathryn Merteuil play wicked games of deceit in the key to seduction. Continuously fueled by revenge they take down most in their path…. until a virgin enters the scene. Who will win? Paired with the quintessential 90s soundtrack, you have a musical that elevates and celebrates this campy bittersweet symphony. A true love letter to the film of the same title, this musical will have you yearning and burning for your own sucker love. So, what are you waiting for? Sept. 26th @ 7:30pm Esteemed for passionate expression and thrilling athleticism, Northrop-favorite Paul Taylor Dance Company returns to set the stage ablaze with energetic modern dance — accompanied by a live orchestra. The program showcases the dynamic geometry of Taylor's exuberant "Brandenburgs" (1988), set to a Bach concerto; resident choreographer Robert Battle's "No Longer Silent" (2007), a searing piece intensified with music by Erwin Schulhoff, a Jewish composer banned in Nazi Germany; and a new work by choreographer Pam Tanowitz, danced to Schubert's "Death and the Maiden," with sets and costumes by visual artist Sarah Crowner.
Oct. 9th - Oct 12th 12pm - 6PM The creation of Catalyst director and choreographer Emily Johnson, Overflow Radio is a performance gathering — an immersive and transformative communal experience rooted in Johnson's decades-long practice of gathering people together. This all-ages, boundary-pushing experience is offered in four six-hour performance cycles across four days. Each six-hour cycle will include: Listening to live radio transmissions from Indigenous writers; viewing and onstage seating within an installation of 84 quilts; witnessing dance from Catalyst performers; eating food together; and skill shares from local experts. Join us and spend time gathering to learn, to heal, to connect.
Oct. 27th @ 7pm Welcome famed trumpet soloist Caleb Hudson in his Northrop debut alongside Northrop Organist Greg Zelek for a Halloween-inspired concert, featuring arrangements of haunted classics. The spine-tingling program includes both classical triumphs and pop favorites — from the baroque depths of Bach to the dark Romanticism of Saint-Saëns and Grieg, to the whimsy of "Ghostbusters" (Ray Parker Jr.), "This Is Halloween" (Danny Elfman) and selections from "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" (Vince Guaraldi). The pairing of trumpet and pipe organ will bewitch you and the whole family!
Nov. 14 @ 7pm Nov. 15 @ 2pm Gather the whole family for a beloved campus tradition thundering with high-octane Gopher spirit! The University of Minnesota Marching Band returns in full force for their 65th annual indoor concert, unleashing rousing stadium energy onto the Northrop stage with fall 2026 halftime favorites and, of course, a special appearance by Goldy Gopher. Join the interactive fun at this storied celebration honoring six-and-a-half decades of marching band excellence booming with maroon and gold pride. Go Gophers!

Dec. 8th @7pm Embark upon a sensory journey through form and identity in this genre-dissolving Liquid Music | Northrop Series performance. Composer inti figgis-vizueta presents her 2026 debut record “Music for Transitions” with a performance featuring Grammy Award-winning cellist Andrew Yee, Rothko String Quartet in their Minnesota debut and acclaimed organist Aaron David Miller on the historic Northrop pipe organ. “Music for Transitions,” called “raw, scraping yet soaring” by The Washington Post, serves as the heart of inti’s first full-length album. The program opens with an organ prelude followed by the full album, which explores Indigenous heritage and trans identity through organic, ecstatic soundscapes. Copresented by Northrop and Liquid Music.
Jan. 30th @ 7:30pm Feel the gravitational pull of Limón Dance Company’s passionate modern dance radiating with the triumph of the human spirit. Highly acclaimed for dramatic expression and technical mastery, the company captivates with the storytelling of founder José Limón. The program includes Limón’s “Missa Brevis” (1958), an emotional modern ballet set to Zoltán Kodály’s score and incorporating the Northrop organ, University Singers and UMN dance students; and the world premiere of a Northrop Centennial Commission by celebrated choreographer Akram Khan that reimagines Limón’s masterpiece “The Moor’s Pavane” (1949).
Feb. 7th @ 3pm The king of silent comedy Charlie Chaplin meets the king of instruments, the Northrop pipe organ, for a rousing film concert. Renowned organist Aaron David Miller will accompany Chaplin’s iconic silent film “The Circus” (1928), improvising the music live. A romantic comedy showcasing Chaplin at his peak, “The Circus” follows the pratfalls of The Tramp who accidentally finds circus stardom and pursues the affections of the circus proprietor’s daughter.
